It's not COVID Paul........... Well whatever it is David i can't shift it in fact my sore throat, croaky voice, headaches, feeling unsteady on my feet, and achy limbs have come back so think it's time i phoned the GP Certainly doesn't sound like 'old age' which was what I was hinting at Paul. Get yourself a diagnosis as soon as to get to the bottom of what the problem is so you can get on top of it

Hey Paul are you feeling any better now? Hi Ash hope all is well. I had a call back from the Docs who reckons it is long Covid given what i told him and it can take a while to recover from, but i can have blood tests done after three months to confirm it and seeing as how i had some blood tests done not long ago everything else was ok so looks like i'm in it for the long haul now. Still got croaky sore throat, aching from time to time, fuzzy head but i am starting to feel better if that makes sense

After my booster I felt like sh1t for a few weeks. It seemed to take forever to get back to something like normal. Have faith, you’ll get there.👍👍😊

I’ve still not got my taste and smell back but my GP said that can take upto 3 months so see how it goes. My symptoms were quite mild and I was ok in myself after a week or so. Anyway hope it goes well for you mate

Anyhoo i just hope i am on the road to recovery this time?

Thankfully this Omicron variant is a weaker version so in one way we fell lucky with it

Hope you feel stronger soon. My daughter suffered a bout of illness which just lingered - eventually the doctor referred her to various consultants including pyschiatrists...that was 25 years ago and M.E. wasn't really understood. We reckoned it was either a follow through from a viral infection or poisoning as it coincided with a school holiday in France when they were spraying that organo-phosphates stuff.
Anyway...she missed 3 years in her final schooling. Now, she is 40 - has 5 kids all of whom she home-schools and sems to have boundless energy. She has avoided taking the Covid Vacc for fear of a reaction. It does flag up how little doctors know about the immune system. Its just a shame that they don't admit that they don't know.

Well 2 weeks ago we had our 3rd injection and I am pleased to say that we had no adverse effects. The only miniscule snag was a sore spot where the needle went into the muscle and that lasted less than a day. Our 92 year old neighbour also didn't have anything bad to say and she is one who tends to exaggerate at times.
This story below made me laugh :-
An unvaccinated man convicted of careless driving drew the ire of a district court judge who said he refused to accept “those nutcase views”.
The defendant, Kieran Fensom*, appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Thursday afternoon to be sentenced on charges of careless driving and driving with excess breath alcohol.
Defence lawyer Michaela Brus submitted that it was the defendant’s first conviction and that a disqualification from driving and reparation order would be a sufficient sentence.
When discussing the amount of reparation to be made, Brus told Judge David Ruth that the defendant could not afford to pay more than $30 per week since he had been left unemployed due to the Covid-19 vaccination mandate.
In response, Judge Ruth said he had no sympathy for someone who refused to be vaccinated.
“He is a danger to everyone around him. Those nutcase views won’t be accepted in this court. You should be ashamed of yourself.”

Me and Jane both had a second booster yesterday, so far so good, just a very slight ache at the injection point.

This is to ease my conscience a tad although it's not about the vaccine per se it is about the potential passing on Covid. A couple of our elderly neighbours ( lets call them Jane 1 and Jane 2 ) have carers visit them every day and so of course these carers also visit other at high risk elderly people.
Jane 1 is now very lurgy infectious and so she is staying away from others for the week. Jane 2 who is about 10 years older has been told that she must not visit Jane 1 for any reason just in case.
Well yesterday Jane 2 phoned Jane 1 to ask if she would like some homemade cake and was told "yes please but leave it by the door ring the bell and then go away". Jane 2 took the cake and walked straight into Jane 1 apartment which because of external painting going on is sealed up so no proper ventilation at the moment. Jane 2 breathed in the germ laden air for several minutes but refuses point blank to accept that she might have caught Covid and so could pass it on. She is so pig headed and doesn't care a jot about others that she insists that she will carry on as normal. Well I had an argument with her about that and said she ought to tell her carers about what happened but she refused saying that she felt fine.
Well I happen to have a phone number for one of Jane 2 carer so I phoned her and told her what Jane 2 did and said. The carer was not happy so it will be interesting what happens today. Oh yes I also contacted our other elderly neighbours who like me were unhappy with Jane 2.
Of course Jane 2 might not have caught it but why risk it?
I am well aware that people can have Covid and pass it on without knowing they have it because they don't know they have it. They might even not know that they have been in contact with someone who had it.
However this isn't the case here so have I overstepped in telling?

I thought there was another thread about Covid but i can't find it, anyhoo anyone had the 4th booster, or flooster if you have both the flu and covid jab yet? There doesn't seem to be much uptake for the 4th one it seems so was wondering if anyone on here has had it yet and if there's any after affects still? We are both booked in for November the 5th.

I think folk are burying 'jabs' under "what have you done today" ... Mum, 95, has had both flu and covid booster - one in each arm - with a little bit of soreness but no real issue. I've had the flu one last week and am due the Covid booster on Saturday ...
