The "follow me home" system is usually activated by pulling the light switch towards you (the flash headlamp action), after the vehicle is switched off and the light switch position is in auto or off. It's usually on for around 30 seconds. Turn lights off by pulling again. I think it was present from first 4.3 facelift (2009/2010) onwards. I didnae know that !!!! Does my banger do it ? Your RAV does. Try it on the little fumiér. Does it have auto lights?

Thanks for that. The front guard has just arrived and it looks good. On page 5 of the front guard fitting instructions it makes reference to the installation manual for the TPAs. I know what the TPAs are but I don't have that document. Can someone basically tell me what the story is? It looks to me as if they just unhook (somehow?) from the existing panel and you have to refit them on the new panel?

Excellent, thanks. Page 22 (diagram 36) explains how to fit the TPAs. This obviously also explains how to remove them using the reverse process in order to refit them to the new front guard.

see my reply on Page 2 of this thread Thanks, got it Hoovie. Like I say, bit of an oversight by Toyota to create a non-compatibility issue between factory accessories. What you have done is an excellent job, but I don't think I'd go down that route, I'll probably have the side steps or mudguards.

BTW, despite my earlier thoughts and hopes, it looks like I'm only getting around 33mpg on urban. That's about what the book says. And that's driving frugally. Much less than my Rav4.2 D4D that I used to get around 40 out of on the exactly the same runs. But, this is a bigger vehicle, bigger engine and it's auto so only to be expected.

The way I unnerstaun it is we have a fifth injector on the exhaust system....somewhere.....and signalled by a sensor in said exhaust, it is told when a certain BACK pressure is sensed in the exhaust and catalyser caused by carbon build up. It then injects neat diesel into an already bliddy hot exhaust, thus cleaning it oot of carbon. I stand to be corrected, but this goes by the name of a regeneration, or regen to us techy types.
