Does it affect grass ?, as I'll be doing mine on mother's front garden. Not that I’ve noticed Jamie. Mine spatters over the garden but I’ve never got loads on the grass. They say squirt washing up liquid on roses to kill green fly if that is anything to go off!!! But don't put it near your car. It's full of salt!

I've had a look at the karcher snow foam lance for k4 ( on Amazon for £15 ) I also watched it on utube ( The Epic car show ) detailer reviews it. I was very tempted at just £15. But the snow foam is too thin , even on max strength and 50/50 dilution. The Autobrite one gives better , thicker foam ( would this drag of mud /grime easier ?) I'm just trying to eliminate me scratching my car too much , as I'll use a noodle mitt afterwards. I'm afraid I only use the one bucket wash, but I do use a grit guard. I also use rainwater and Turtle wax. Karcher lances are junk. Get the standard brass ones on EBay or Amazon with the Karcher fitment 👍👍 Excuse my ignorance Charlie, could you give a link to one please ( Amazon preferably)... many thanks.

Found the best deal on ebay rather than Amazon tbh.
Get a package with some detergent and an extra dispensing bottle and it all works out much of a muchness tbh.

No mate... Never found the need. Every now and then it’s worth stripping them down but wait till you sense a blockage .. Slow or little delivery of foam through the Lance will let you know. It’s always the wee valve under the pipe inlet which gets debris like a tiny bit of grit or sometimes when the kit is new a bit of plastic swarf... Regular cleaning won’t prevent it.. I never take apart unless something isn’t right.

I never take apart unless something isn’t right. I really enjoy taking things apart, but only when it's not working right. So satisfying if I can fix it.

Ok folks. Hope your Xmas day was as enjoyable as it could be 🥂 My car is only Autoglymed with super resin polish , 3 times this year.
It's washed with rain water , Turtle wax and a noodle mitt. It washes easily , soap runs off fairly well.
So , I've got my snowfoam gun , Autoglym polar blast foam too ( see how that goes , may have to buy better )
I'm tempted to try today ( dry but overcast ) As we're Tier 4 , can't go anywhere - so the car will sit on the lawn for a few days... To be fair ,front lawn is half grass & a little mud now... due to my car... oops.
Trying it today, just to see it working - get the worst off.
So.... Apply to the dirty but dry car ?
Wait 15mins ish.. Then power wash down... and towel dry.

I thought you leave the car to air dry - i.e. it is a 'no touch' routine.

Not that I’ve noticed Jamie. Mine spatters over the garden but I’ve never got loads on the grass. They say squirt washing up liquid on roses to kill green fly if that is anything to go off!!! But don't put it near your car. It's full of salt! We’re talking about the effect of snowfoam on grass not washing up liquid on cars. In any case, the old wives tale of salt in washing up liquid would only be relevant to somebody who didn’t rinse it off afterwards. It would be far more beneficial to wash off a layer of road grime which is laden with salt with washing up liquid then rinse it off than leave it unwashed. Does washing-up liquid damage your vehicle? We asked Dr Bob Eden BSc MSc PhD MICorr (Member of the Institute of Corrosion) for the truth: image001“Washing up liquid does contain a ‘salt’ but this is the active ingredient and should not be confused with road salt. There is nothing in a washing-up liquid that will exacerbate corrosion – there’s no sodium chloride salt to worry about. The issue regarding corrosion is the ‘chloride’ bit of the salt. In ‘chloride nests’ at the base of a corrosion pit, the chloride exists as hydrogen chloride, which in damp conditions creates a solution of dilute hydrochloric acid, and it’s this acid that does the damage. You need to avoid ‘chloride’ from any and all sources, e.g. seawater, road grit and fish & chips (but not washing up liquid). When I wash my aluminium bodied Lea Francis, a dash of Fairy is just fine…” The only thing you might do is de wax your car.

Well , I tried but the joint between my karcher and the new snow foam nozzle , leaks like a sieve so it needs returning 😕 It plugs in , turns and locks ok... but water pours out.
