Sorry folks. Feeling like I'm taking up the entire forum here 😂
Well , the Rav4 is going to Toyota tomorrow.
The coolant splatters are a real mess now with it sitting all around that rim too.
And driven home from work this evening, noticed it's going a much darker pink in the vessel too.
It's still about 1/2" below low mark.
See what they say tomorrow.
Not looking forward to it.
My warranty definatley expires Oct this year. But they're disputing , and want to see my paperwork.
I'll keep all my car info with me just in case.

I'm not very mechanical minded, but doesn't sound good!!
Warranty does though. Nice one.
What sort of mileage is the car on? Warranty doesn't have a limit does it?

Cars only done 47k miles and the extended warranty goes to 10 yrs or 100k. My only concern is , I slipped up a little on a service timing. I'm about 2 months out date wise on one service ( looked at mileage rather than date 😕) There's also a chap on fb who has very very similar problems and mileage. His Egr cooler has ruptured internally , but he's taken his to an independent garage. Now... Last night when I checked my coolant again. I chose to release the pressure on the cap. Just by undoing it.. slowly. But as the pressure released , I heard a hiss & slight gurgle from behind the engine. Possibly where that egr cooler may be. Anyway, see what happens today - see what they say..

Jamie stop worrying !!!! One service slightly late ain’t going to matter especially as the car will not have exceeded its mileage limits only its time limit.
I fear mate that they might try to fob you off given your rather gentle nature. Stand firm and all will be just fine !!

You should be fine with the warranty. I had loads of work done on our 4.3 viabthr extended warranty. They’ve changed the criteria now you can extend up ton12 years as long as it’s still below 100K. As Charlie said don’t worry about it should be fine

Whilst quietly suspecting the old issue was raising its head I must admit I didn’t think it was that.... Few 150 engines have failed with the old issue. But one things for sure Jamie your car will be spot on when it’s done.

I'm pretty confident with your input Charlie 👍 Then new engine in about 2 weeks all being well. They say it's perfectly drivable , just watch the fluid levels.

Sounds like it's a good job you spotted it. I hope all goes well.

I'll share your positivity when it's done Charlie 😊 .5 I am generally a positive person too. 😊 Just out of curiosity, what will happen to my coolant as it gets darker again over next 2 weeks please?

Interesting, they topped up my coolant Monday to where it should be. And with new pink coolant.
Doesn't spit out now.
But.. Toyota Gb warranty hav'nt made a decision .... yet.
As i phoned them last night.
But I'll keep at them , firm but polite.
Can't believe it's taking more than a day for Toyota Gb warranty to authorise it.

it is a big expense if it were a new engine so a same day decision from them is unlikely. It took about a week for my replacement wheels to get agree on my DS5 and that is a much cheaper job.

Yes, agree completely. I've got a slight battle on my hands. Staff at the Toyota dealer are like kids. I'm finding I'm having to manage them , unfortunately they now trade as Steven Eagell Toyota. Back when my warranty was offered they were Lancaster Toyota Colchester. So the warranty company say the warranty is void for this reason. They no longer exist. But... my warranty document shows I'm covered.... by Toyota. I'm even emailing / talking directly with The warranty group. The warranty group are also disputing a new engine for the sake of a head gasket. But getting the two parties to sort it out is.... Well actually i don't mind , I'm in the fold of communication so I know what's happening. Rather than be shut out. I've even involved a chap called Tim Brownsdon who is the dealer principal. Known him almost 20 years. I ain't beaten yet !
