Hi, just like when you move into a new house and find there are a few bits and pieces that need fixing and tweaking, there are bound to be a few areas here as well.
So if you find anything that doesn't seem right, or even something you think could be a little better, please post a reply to this thread with details and we will get on the case!

When registering I had to supply my date of birth. I would prefer not to have my birthday visible on the internet.

When registering I had to supply my date of birth. I would prefer not to have my birthday visible on the internet. The Requirement to enter birthday is part of the ToS - no one under 13 years of age is allowed to join, so that registration requirement will always remain. However, in your Profile Settings you can elect to have your birthday shown in various ways: Full Birthday - Day, Month and Year Date - Day and Month but no Year Hidden - Your Birthday and Age are hidden from all other users Click on "Profile" in main Menu Bar, then Click on "Edit Profile" Within the Edit Profile & Settings page, there is a 'Privacy' tab. Click on this and various options will appear. Select " Birthday Visibility" and chose the one that suits you best. This is a screenshot of the various Privacy Options with the Birthday one highlighted

So does it mean that if I want to search for some past post and it was not created on this new forum, I would have to go back to the old forum ?
And in affect, the posts etc on the old forum are COMPLETELY separate to this forum and there is no interaction between both sites whatsoever, apart from what you mentioned about peoples profile status, for example "Premium Supporter " which David did manually.

I didn't get asked for a DOB, but I appear to already have had a Proboard userid so maybe I did a long time ago.

Is there a 'New' post option or is that now 'Recent Threads' ?

Yup, the nearest we have is the 'Recent threads' tab. Not quite as convenient as 'New Posts' but still helpful.

The two sites are totally separate yes. The old site will remain open (assuming tapatalk allow that) and will operate as an archival resource pretty much. You will be able to log on and read but the ability to create new posts will be very limited. Posts which are identified as being useful technically will be copy-pasted to the new forum (you may have seen some of these already here?)

So, for a logged-in user 'Recent Threads' highlights threads containing new posts and provides the means the read the thread from the beginning (click in the Subject column) and the read the thread from the end (click in the Last Post column). Would in be feasible to provide a 'link' to the first unread post within the thread?

If it's possible I'm sure Hoovie will sort it but he's got a lot to get on top of...........
EDIT:
If you click on the green 'New' flag in a 'Recent thread' header you will go straight to the most recent post.

Additionally, clicking on an empty space in the Subject column will take you to the very first post in the thread; clicking on the page number in the Subject column will take you to the first post in that page in the thread; and clicking on an empty space in the Last Post column will take you to the very last post in the thread.

Well it asked me for my email address, it then said we know you what's your password, which I gave, it then asked me for a username on here a tickbox to confirm I wasn't a robot & the a confirmation email, 'I think' What i haven't received is an email to say you had replied, I'll check my profile to see if I subscribe on reply

Your activation key is: 6gbJGijlCLXdpyWAYCOQ6ZCbJAnI4LQE login.proboards.com/activation/6896191?id=13944217&key=6gbJGijlCLXdpyWAYCOQ6ZCbJAnI4LQE
You can log in with your username or email address when visiting this forum: rav4driversclub.boards.netThen once you have activated your account with the key in the first email you get a second "ProBoards Network Account Activated" Email saying: Thank you for activating your ProBoards account!
You can log in with your username or email address when visiting this forum: rav4driversclub.boards.netWhen I then created an account using the same email address at another Proboards Forum shortly after, I just got the first "Account Created" email and no secondary Activation Email So it looks like as soon as you have validated your email address at one Forum hosted by Proboards, you don't get any more Activation emails when registering at other Proboards Forums as long as you use that same Address AND password.
