This business of telling one team member to let the other one pass is wrong. It’s fiddling the results and that not the spirit of sport.
That said the individual who refused “ for his own reasons” has a very short memory and went way down in my opinion of him.

The individual in question wouldn’t have won anything without the help of his team mate ! Cutting off your nose to spite your face springs to mind 🙄

Cutting off your nose to spite your face springs to mind 🙄 Whilst I don’t agree with fixing places that was a demonstration of pure selfishness. But at least neither of the drivers being instructed to let their teammate past complied.

Team orders have been part of the sport since day 1. It is better that is in the open now rather than coded messages (such as the imfamous "Fernado is faster than you" one). As unclebob says, it is Max ego cutting off his nose... Giving up a irrelevant place in a race would have cost him nothing, helped his team mate and also helped his team. Not doing so I am sure will cost him far more down the line and I certainly hope it will be painful.
As far as him going down in my own opinion of him, it didn't make any difference but reinforced what I already thought of him.
