The Nilfisk 150.2 ( which is the newer model of the one that I have ) has a very similar spec to Charlies Krazle. I've had mine for 7 or 8 years and have only just discovered that the handle is telescopic - stores under my workbench a treat! Not sure how the Krazle handles pressure changes, but the Nilfisk does it by twisting the nozzle on the gun. This is very convenient when you are washing the motor as you can instantly turn it up to wash under the wheel arches or down to wash off the shampoo or snowfoam. I'd certainly not regard myself as a professional user, or even a heavy duty one these days, but it's also done a very good job on a concrete mixer and powerfloat. The hire place were so impressed they knocked down the cost of the hire as they went back in much better condition than we got them! www.nilfisk.com/en-gb/consumer/products/high-pressure-washers/excellent-dynamic/e-1502-10-h-x-tra-uk/c_128471201/ Price seem to be just under £400. looks quite good but I couldn’t see a price ? It says it’s for more frequent use but what I wonder does that mean ? Kranzle claim we can run their machines all day every day which is some claim but one I believe. Of course other than 2 to 3 days constant use when cleaning the patios and the paving my one gets used infrequently…. My old one got truly hammered both at work and then on Friday afternoon in the yard cleaning the vans. Never missed a beat.

You have to "shop around" to get sensible prices - a shade over £300 here ... (List is over £600)

There's only one 'material' difference between the E150.2-9 and the E150.2-10 - E150.2-9 comes with a "9 Metre Soft Textile High-Pressure Hose" while the E150.2-10 includes a "10m Armoured High-Pressure Hose" - the latter being a shade longer and likely to be harder wearing but if you take reasonable care both will do exactly the same job. The underlying machines are identical. I wouldn't bother to supersede the foam gun that comes with it unless and until I found out that it didn't work satisfactorily. If you get a decent foam output with the supplied gun, stick with it ... (Mine didn't come with a foam gun so I had to buy one anyway!)

That's good then i will just have to be careful and make sure none of the dogs bite through as the one tried with the hosepipe over the weekend. I still haven't managed to get any wax on it yet so that will be the first job when i can. How can you tell "if you get a decent foam output" ?

YouTube video of a car getting snowfoamed which gives a good impression of what it should look like: You want the foam to dwell rather than run straight off; but you also want it to 'slump' (rather than maintain 'stiff peaks' as Mary might say) otherwise you are using too strong a mix and you'll strip protective wax etc. as well as the dirt. The video looks about right and you'll know it when you see it!

Your not going to get proper decent foam from those standard foam bottles . They aren’t foam lances just mixing bottles.
What you will get is soapy water which will not dwell on the car like proper foam.m…If you want anything even half way decent out of those foam bottles you can only do so by increasing the amount of product. This then will be too strong and will strip the wax off ….Back to square one then.
The mixture of foam shampoo and water is forced through a foam lances jets then through wire gauze. It’s that process that produces the foam we’re after.
Sorry guys but if you have your mixture coming out of your lance like in the video above you will strip your wax or sealants in one wash. Manufacturers just like to show off….. Bloody silly really as so many will think that’s what your supposed to do.

Thanks Philip So is that several coats of foam he's given the car then took the final covering off with a mitt? Oh dear ... I didn't review the video for technique - just the consistency of foam ... snow foam is a pre-wash so one coat will do and then jet it off. Exactly what you do after that is entirely up to you and how long you want to spend on valeting the car. You could then shampoo, polish, wax and buff but I normally just let it dry ...
