I’m thinking 1 year contract that gets his 8th world title and retire, then hopefully We can get some young blood in. As Lewis leaves maybe he can take Räikkönen with him who to my mind is taking up a seat that a eager, fresh younger driver could take.

Kimi is definately taking up a place that quite a few other drivers could do a better job at. I don't think that is the case with Lewis though. I wonder if he is only doing 1 year contracts as he fancies having a go at what is meant to be the dream ... A Ferrari drive?
I'm looking forward to this season with Mick Schumacher, who was very entertaining to watch in F2. Tended to be a bit of a poor qualifier but always made up places with great overtaking moves, so that will be interesting to see. Although in a HAAS I don't think we can expect too much as only so much can be done with a donkey against racehorses.

I understood, from the previous rumour mill, that Lewis was holding out for a good four year deal - which makes a lot of sense from his standpoint - one more deal while his stock is riding high before moving on to "something completely different". The one year contract sounds like a compromise so that both parties keep their options open ...

The FIA have to put in place that all driver contracts need to be put in place by the end of the current racing year, dragging it out for a better deal with 6 weeks to go is bad for the sport . I feel Kimi is just selfish keeping his seat , dozens of young drivers just itching to get a drive in F1.....guess it’s the management that make the decisions or are Ferrari pulling the strings 🤔

Max and Lewis are in a different league. Great to watch but must be kinda demoralising for the other drivers!!

looks like it could be an unpredictable season and reliability may play a part this year as Mercedes and Red Bull will need to run to the max to challenge each other. Roll on next race in THREE weeks?

My F1 season will be ruined if it's dominated by Hamilton. It's now time for others to shine through....even Alonso again, anything but Hamilton.

What do folk think of the new race commentary pairing of Alex Jacques and Billy Monger? Once they learn to speak proper English, they'll be fine ..."Lewis is in the lead at the minute"... Honestly, kids these days!!

I suspect that it will be I know it’s a very debatable point but Lewis over these last few years would have had to try not to win given the kit he has. Russel highlighted that last year.

Fair point Charlie but his teammate hasn't managed it with the same equipment.
