Are we no longer using spoiler alerts ? I'm not sure that they are appropriate under the circumstances, but no one has given any information regarding the finishing positions in the 'race' ... I was definitely not pointing the finger. I was asking the question before adding a comment.

Good news - it looks like we get Sky coverage on C4. Bad news - the commentary team seem nearly as bad! I enjoyed the Sky coverage, especially with it being live. I must find out how to watch it next year without needing a mortgage! Likewise David… The FIA are good or bad depending on which driver we or I are favouring. Ive said above twice in the last two day the FIA are not nor have been this year fit for purpose. Two drivers have justifiable complaints today. One at the beginning of the race the other at the end. I make that 1 each.

Just don't say who won Charlie Honestly I was asking as I’m unsure if at this late stage if spoiler alerts were still mandatory… Well not mandatory but still observed.. I imagine most know the results but someone may have been out or working. 👍👍👍

It really doesn't matter which driver is declared the winner - they both drove well and did the best they could with the cars they had - and the end of the day F1 lost ...

As a slight aside. What is a joke is that the teams can lobby the FIA as the race goes on and we can hear it all…….. I agree though Jase they’re a joke.

Next year, in order to "green" F1, there will be no cars, no petrol consumption and no travelling all around the world. Instead the results will be provided by the stewards sat in their office using a wija board and a drivers helmet filled with slips of paper

... and the FIA have concluded that the FIA was right - not withstanding the fact they they didn't apply their own rules! I think it was always pretty sure they would not say they were wrong. It was a terrible decision to make in the race, contradicting their own rules, albeit for sporting motives. One of the drivers (I think?) made a good comment which would have been much fairer to all and also given all the remaining laps to race ... Red Flag the race to let the crashed car be cleared out the way and then restart. All cars would have changed tyres (a stupid rule but same for all), the lapped cars will automatically go to the back of the pack to get everyone in the right racing order and then would have around 5 or so full racing laps after a grid restart. And all within the rules and no one could really complain as there was a safety matter that had to be addressed which is what the option of a Red Flag is for. (it is not like they haven't used them multiple times this year already). When you think of it, it is so bleeding obvious why wasn't it done by the people who are meant to know about these things? I wonder who will be the FIAs F1 Race Director next year after Michael Massi decides he wants to step down to spend more time with his family?

Are we no longer using spoiler alerts ? As anyone interested would almost ceertainly be watching live (as it is on Free To Air TV) and the news coverage will be massive, seems little reason.

I think this will be a change for next year - some kind of comms barrier put in place so teams cannot directly talk to or argue with the Race Director but he can tell them his decisions.

I thought under a safety car the drivers had to keep the same distances apart until a re start. One driver in particular had managed a gap of something like 8 seconds all of which was lost when the re start got started.
I’ve not taken a huge interest in F1 until the two main protagonists started the battle royal this year so I’m out of touch. The driver who effectively had his 8 second lead could be said to have been robbed. I would agree with that. But both drivers have. / had things to belly ache about….
As the very good Sky commentary team said “ Both deserve to win but it doesent happen that way “ Nuff said

... and so it goes to appeal ... Really ? What or who sorts that out ? So the FIA upheld its own decision and the loosing team management have appealed that Nothing is worse than a bad looser. Bit drivers have a reason to complain yet niether have done so since the race ended. As a said above 1 each. Its a shame the sport will end up in disrepute..

The protests against the conduct of the race are made on the day to the race stewards. The stewards have delivered their decision. The loosing team now get to appeal against that decision and the appeal is heard by the FIA (in Paris). I can't see any prospect of the FIA reversing the race officials or stewards decisions to date, but there is a very small hope that they will recognise that they are making the sport a laughing stock and review and clarify the rules. We can always hope ...
