I used steel pop rivets…..a few sizes bigger than the original alloy ones 👍🏻

You'll need to 'distress' it a bit Paul

Here is what the new cap will be replacing, after looking at the other three which are also damaged but not as bad as this one fortunately, they do look like they have had a repair in the past  All four caps had quite a bit of mud inside somehow so i have managed to clean them out. I was also thinking of using a clear silicon to fix the caps as they are a loose-ish fit, to fill the gap, plus a couple of rivets?

Why not give the three old ones a few coats of tyre wall black? The new one will soon look second hand after a couple of weeks.😂

I would rebuild the broken one as a spare. Repair it with fibre glass matting & resin 👍🏻

Finally got around to fitting the rear bar/step to the Rav today. I managed to do most of the work kneeling down so managed to avoid that sickly feeling i get when lying down under the car, so fitting the side bars will be more trickier, but they can wait a while longer. Thanks to Uncle Bob for the extra piccys and tips on fitting it and Firemac for the link for the fitting instructions :TU:

Well folks it took some time to get the sidebars and the rear bar fitted but i finally got there in the end and i even managed to get the new door handle covers on, cheers Uncle Bob for the heads up :TU: I did use a quick drying two pack epoxy resin and just one rivet to hold the caps on so they shouldn't be going anywhere to soon i hope. Only job i haven't done so far is to change the rear door strap/hinge allowing the door to open wider. MOT this Friday as well so fingers crossed all is good :TU: Side bar without the end caps on
