Well folks we have had Rav No4 now for three and half years and i only noticed last week that the air filter cover doesn't have the usual VVT-I in white on it but has the Toyota badge. Is this usual or has another cover been used does anyone know?? Judging by the condition of the air filter housing, Paul, a previous owner may have polished the label off. I wouldn't have thought there's anything untoward to worry about.

Mrs P decided she wanted wind deflectors fitted, nothing to do with me and my stomach i might add , so ordered a pair last Friday and they arrived this morning and i fitted them we went for the German made Climair ones. They are supposed to be a pressure fit only which is why we liked them but on opening the box i saw two metal fixings and a small nut and bolt, these turn out to be the only way the deflector can hold on due to the design of the Ravs door apparently when i spoke to the techy chap, so we weren't keen on that but after reading comments on deflectors flying off it didn't seem a bad idea to fit them. The defectors themselves are hardly noticeable and do fit nice, but the fixing does stick out I've never been a big fan of wind deflectors but I recently found a decent set from AutoClover that hides the chrome trim on the top of the doors. I've never really liked that bit of chrome. I reckon it looks better with the silver and black colours.

Ours don’t seem to have made any difference to the sound inside the car but, in fairness it’s pretty silent anyway. I mainly wanted to improve the looks.😊

Thanks, Charlie. I’m pleased with it although I feel a bit tempted by the GR Sport (apart from price, that is!).👍👍

On our way home from shopping this morning when i could hear the tip tip tip tip tipping noise coming from the back and thought we had picked up a stone or summat in the tyre, so has it happened we were just coming up to a tyre fitting place we had used in the past so we pulled in for them to check it out which they did and low and behold there was a nice big screw in the rear near side and right on the edge so wasn't repairable. The bloke there gave us some prices for budget tyres and a Pirelli one but decided to go with two Michelin cross climates on the rear. The fitter did say we could just replace the one but seeing as they are budget tyres fitted since we've owned it thought it time to get a decent tyre on, well two at least

Had the ASX serviced and MOTd on Wednesday. Needed three new Cross climates. Had other one during the year for same reason - screw in shoulder. What with cost of service and tyres, won't be upgrading the TV for Christmas as planned

Put a new set of Avon’s on it and it transformed the handling . See how you get on with it now…might find you need the matching set 👍🏻

See how you get on with it now…might find you need the matching set 👍🏻 Well Bob the two new climates have been fitted and there was a different bloke there this morning so we asked him about having the new ones on the rear and the cheaper budgets left on the front and he said although they are what they call budget tyres they are a decent tyre, tyres have improved a load over the years, so you should be ok though it would be better to have the same all round, especially with the climates as they a brilliant tyre he said, but see how you go. So if we decide to have the climates all round they wouldn't be able to get the other two in till later in the week which suits us, but so so far Mrs P says it feels fine and the droning noise we had from the back has now gone, so was that down to the tyres??
