Hello folks.
Just got myself a 2005 VVTi 3 door RAV4. Don't pick it up till next week. It's done 89k with a good service record and an excellant MOT record.
Can't think of any big questions yet, but is there anything that you can tell me? Is there any particular stuff a 3 door RAV4 newbie should know?
Ta in advance.

Cheers. Its a manual. First petrol vehicle I've had for about 20 years. I don't do much mileage so went for the petrol option. Was looking at the 'full size' RAV4 for ages before the 3 door took my fancy. Didn't really know they were also a bit of a cult either. Anyway pick her up at the weekend, can't wait.

That age of petrol Rav4 is a very reliable product so wear and tear is you only real concern and how previous owners have looked after it .

We are on our third 3-dr (and our 6th RAV, so you'll guess that we like them a bit!). Brilliant cars. The Vvti isn't the most economical vehicle out there by a long shot but they are super reliable and very well built. As long as it has a good service history, you should be fine. The 3-dr tends to be sought after and the prices can reflect that but I reckon, in time, they will be seen as something of a classic. Post some pics up when you get it and enjoy!

I'll prob remove the extension bit of the tow bar plus I need to identify/source the black end plug on the side bar.
The MOT history of her shows one fail in the past 12 years and that was for 'windscreen wipers do not clean the screen effectively'
(I'm also a biker)

That’s nice it’s a granite ? First job....the chrome side bars the rivets on the black plastic end caps rot away and you loose the cap 🙄 drill out and put bigger rivets in ASAP to save the ones you have left 👍🏻👍🏻 Toyota use to sell them as a separate part but sadly no longer available 😕

Enjoy!
