Ian, we should be used to being shit on from a great height. We are after all governed by the SNP. don't start me! 10 years in power and we have a surge of all sort of creatures.

cellulite 476 it is then. I'd used McGuires stuff which did the job on my fire engine but then its bright red with vertical faces meaning the birds' faeces is less likely to hit and stick.
Before retiring to bed last night, I did think of throwing stones at the things when they land nearby, but the neighbour didn't like me lifting her 3x2 paving slabs.....selfish! I had previously tried an electric fence style of protection but the postman got tangled up in the wiring....served him right for trying to take shortcuts by jumping the fence.
Looking out this morning, I can see car roof has been hit by another bomber but it could have been a magpie this time as one was lurking around last night. Thanks all for the suggestions. BTW, I delivered some pallets of stuff to an Amazon depot a month ago while doing some agency class 2 truck driving.... sat for 3 hours at their warehouse waiting for them to unload the 3 pallets....staff young, pleasant and clueless. Free coffee machine though. Had similar experience at the Tesco warehouse in Livingston....almost 4 hours to unload 5 pallets of bottled beer -shambles and the drivers seating area is shocking- torn seats; and vending machines where one could buy a Tesco sandwich for £2.90...had a laugh though as 1 driver had sat so long, he'd run out of driving hours and hence had to leave his artic (tractor and freezer trailer) at the bay for 48 hours rest!!!

Wait till you get hit by a bloody Heron my gawd they make a mess Not seen any of them. One neighbour 3 doors up has a multi-storey shed packed with pigeons which seem only to crap on my garden chairs. Another neighbour a few doors down must have hens - unless he plays a recording of hens each morning. Thankfully they don't fly. Thats the cellulite ordered...need to try and ask my doctor for the stuff on prescription!

Birds that have been eating Elderberries are pretty awful ... It's bright purple!!! Not so bad on the car, apart from having to clean it off, but on your washing ... I would so love an Ithaca ... (For those not in the know it's a military assault grade shotgun )

well- had to happen I guess. Seems birds must use Twitter to communicate ! Before managing to get the weather to apply the Colinite wax, the car got splattered again. Bonnet and windscreen. One day after having washed it. So out last night with the hose and a soft brush to wet the poo and brush it off.....but..
this time
it was rock hard... so I got thoroughly soaked trying to get the stuff off....and managed. Then today in broad daylight..... scratches all over the bits I'd scrubbed on the windscreen and bonnet. FFS. T-cut the bonnet a little and marks still there but faded. The windscreen took all of my wifes whitening toothpaste to no effect (she is still at work). So off to Carpro in Edinburgh to collect a Carpro CeriGlass kit to try polishing the scratches on the windscreen..which are just below my eyeline when driving hence annoying. Seems that the bird must have been eating fine sand which I duly rubbed into create damage.
Now- where's the link to that gun??

Ian get some cerium oxide off Ebay. That’s the stuff for correcting glass... 👍👍 The Carpro Ceriglass is indeed cerium oxide which they sell in a bottle made up; or as I bought, in a small kit with a bottle of liquid cerium oxide, an applicator pad and a small cloth to polish off. There is an agent who sells it in Edinburgh so I flew (get it?) through to pick a kit up.
Its hard work rubbing the stuff on by hand....so this weekend I'll have a go using it with a motorised polisher. Having got close and personal with the windscreen, I found many small scratches and marks from where its been hit by stones; insects; etc. Wonder if it would survive a brick??

Well, spent an hour trying to polish scrathes off windscreen with the cerium oxide.... hard work and probably needs another 8 hours when I recover.
Today, tried that cellulite wax polish....(colinite) but rubbing my finger along paintwork waxed, realise that having lost 8 layers of skin, the paint surface is pretty rough. I did use a little t-cut commercial grade to remove seagulls sand scratches which has helped but the whole car needs done.. I know that nowadays the paint is a 2 part with a clear coat? so does the bodywork need clayed? (as opposed to torched) Am I better just booking a car detailer to do the work...its a XC90 volvo so helluva lot of paintwork. I did buy a machine polisher to attack the coach enamel on the fire engine - but then thats a thick enamel coat. Any suggestions??

Definitely clay it..... Use lots and lots of lube or it will bind ... Lubed properly the clay will glide over the surface. Don’t press on the clay just the weight of your hand will do.
T CUT IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS.

T CUT IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS. aye - yer right. Had a close look at the paintwork and lots of swirls, light scratches etc. Its a helluva lot of bodywork on a XC90 so I've booked it in to a local guy to clay shoot it and sort out the scratches etc to leave me with an easier job to wash and keep it clean. The cerium oxide stuff is hard work....scratches on the windscreen are just slightly better so the solution is I drive very closely behind large lorries .... and a guy driving a V90 volvo drove past me on the M80 on saturday with a bloody great hole in the windscreen...looked like a brick had hit it. However he was doing well over 70mph so it wasn't safe to catch up and ask him how he did it lol. As it was raining, he had the passenger side wiper blade lifted up off the hole in the screen so the drivers side wiper could sweep the rain off the remaining well-cracked screen!!!
I'll revert to polishing the fire engine instead.

Did it not come with a wee round sponge applicator Paul? Any way, apply with a dry applicator. I believe Charlie simply uses his fingers. Autoglym High Definition wax requires a slightly damp applicator sponge.
