Welcome. Be aware - when you change tyers, go to a reputable place, as the pressure sensors are very sensitive, and break easily. I had one broken, and it was a bit of a faf to get them to admit, but was done through blackcircles and they refunded me the cost of the sensor and MrT to program it. +1 for Quatrac 5

When I had my RAVs, I used Falken. Found them excellent at grip- and a blow out at 100mph made no difference to the road handling (bolt embedded in tyre flew out judging by hole left). Think I was using 245/45x18 on the 4.1 cars. Now I have a Volvo XC90 fitted with Avon Xsumthin, the wear seems poor so maybe going with the cross things. My experience with Bridgestone was awful...so avoided them for years now.

Hi guys, sorry for hijacking the thread but I have the same 4.4 hybrid model and found the ride with Ecopia tyres very harsh and bumpy. Would it make any difference if I switch to 225/60r18 tyres ie. slightly narrower but more rubber on the side?

Welcome to the club dct Personally I would stick with original fit size and go with either the Michelins if you have plenty of money. I've only had Yokos on my 4.3 for the past 125K and find them quiet, plenty grippy and good wear at a reasonable price. The Vredsteins seem to also be good grip and wear at a lower price. Obviously shop around but I recently had a couple of Michelins fitted on my SLK and found Protyre to be cheapest for those. Ordering 'online' being cheaper again than walk in.
