Hi,
I purchased a 2017 Rav4 Hybrid Excel (Mk 3/4 ) a few weeks back.
It has the original Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 plus tyres on. It has only done 8k miles.
I am finding these pretty awful tbh.
Has anyone else found them bad or changed them? I am thinking of putting Michelin CrossClimate SUV on, even though there is loads of tread left.
Dave

Have no experience of them Ecopia named wans, Dave, but have had Bridgestone Runflats before. Not starting on the Runrat debacle.....again.......but the actual tyres themselves were utterly pish in the wet.......great for living in Scotlandshire, eh...?........and the road noise was even pisherer. Your choice of tyres to change to is spot on, but do not dismiss various Yokohama offerings.......cheaper than the Michelin, like most are, and being noise intolerant I have always found their tyres quiet and good wearfulness.
Come in Andy shcm........methinks you have yon Ecopulators, naw.....?
Welcome along.......another bloody Dave FFS.......

Bridgestones are nowt short of bloody awful. My car came on those mentioned above and I ditched them though only part worn.
My recommendation is Vredestien Quatrac 5s. These are All season tyres. A very compliant ride with awesome all weather grip on any surface. Brilliant wear rates very quiet and not expensive. 👍👍

I put Cross Climates on a CRV and thought they were great. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I had my Bridgestones removed and had Nokians fitted only because of the reviews on What Car. I had the all seasons fitted on mine

Out of idle curiosity, what size are the tyres on your RAV Dave? On mine I have Bridgestone Dueler H/T 687s in 235/55/R18 as summer tyres - the original OEM fitment and the original tyres at 55k miles (though I use dedicated cold weather tyres in the winter). There's still a good amount of wear left on them and, while I feel that my learned colleagues overstate their 'awfulness', I wouldn't fit them again. If you want to change you may as well do so 'now' - you'll need to do an awful lot of miles to wear them out - and IMHO it would be madness not to fit all season tyres. Whether you choose a premium brand like the Michelin (I bought Cross Climates for the wife's car) or a 'cheaper' alternative doesn't matter so much - they'll all do the job.

I realise that I am the odd one out on this but, apart from a set of Coopers on one car, all our RAVs have run on Duellers and (shock, horror) I've never had any major issues with them apart from one set that were definitely out of round, hence the Coopers mentioned above.
On the Saabs, I've had really good results with Uniroyal all season and Rainmaster boots.

I'm toying with the idea of a set of Yokohamas again on mine.. I have the Geolandar GO12's at the moment and their replacements would be the GO15's..

A wee factoid......Philip is running HT 687 Dueller. The only difference between them and my favourite subject.......Runflats........was they removed the Runflat symbol, but kept the nomenclature HT687. IMHO, this was to sneak in some of the high stocks of (Logo’d) Runrats they were left with when the Toyota/Bridgestone CARTEL collapsed on its arse.
I have spoked.......

Cheers for all the feedback! I will have to look into Vredestein then. Michelin currently refund you £50 when you buy a set of 4 atm from certain garages. I have found F1 autocentres to be the cheapest.
I am running 235/55/18
I will have to take some pics & post them. Mighht take me a while, as I am not clued up on this

... I am running 235/55/18 ... Thanks for clarifying - same as mine then. I was trying to get a handle on the Ecopia tyres ... according to the Bridgestone UK website they are not available in our size in the UK - which is 'odd' because they are available from suppliers but the Bridgestone UK website seems to be a little slow on matters Bridgestone! On the US site the Bridgestone Ecopia HL 422 Plus is described as "Bridgestone’s SUV, CUS and Minivan tire engineered to give you secure and comfortable, long-lasting performance". It is a so called 'all season' tire - i.e. it is what we'd call a summer tyre with M&S markings. The Ecopia brand focuses on fuel efficiency and is warranted for up to 70,000 miles! ... which probably means that it's going to be both hard-wearing and hard riding.
