I tried Charlies small chip black paint repair that he mentioned in a post that I can't find now so thought I would start a separate thread about it.
I tried it but I have put too much paint on so it looks like a blob now so how can I get round this.
Will I need to rub it down with wet n dry?

For a non laquer repair you application looks spot on..
Go on Ebay and get some Meguires Unigrit wet and dry paper... Get a pack with some 2500 and 3000 grit..
Use either soapy water or a mix of detailing spray and water for lubrication. Work gently and slowly till you get a flat surface. Then polish. It should come up just fine. Patience is key here. You can stop polish and wet sand again till you get it right.

Cheers Charlie :TU: so do i just rub down the paint I have put on which will be difficult i'd have thought or a small area around it as well as I don't want to go through the original paint?
Do I use a soft/hard block/pad?
There are quite a few stone chip marks on the bonnet.

I followed it, sanding down the entire side of a 3 year old Landrover Freelander that was due to get returned on lease  Not got any pictures, but it came out looking ace  |

And it is either Mirka or 3M (so better then Meguiars I believe anyway). PM me your Address and I will send you a selection of grits. |
