I tried Charlies small chip black paint repair that he mentioned in a post that I can't find now so thought I would start a separate thread about it. I tried it but I have put too much paint on so it looks like a blob now so how can I get round this. Will I need to rub it down with wet n dry?

For a non laquer repair you application looks spot on..
Go on Ebay and get some Meguires Unigrit wet and dry paper... Get a pack with some 2500 and 3000 grit..
Use either soapy water or a mix of detailing spray and water for lubrication. Work gently and slowly till you get a flat surface. Then polish. It should come up just fine. Patience is key here. You can stop polish and wet sand again till you get it right.

Cheers Charlie :TU: so do i just rub down the paint I have put on which will be difficult i'd have thought or a small area around it as well as I don't want to go through the original paint? Do I use a soft/hard block/pad? There are quite a few stone chip marks on the bonnet.

I followed it, sanding down the entire side of a 3 year old Landrover Freelander that was due to get returned on lease Not got any pictures, but it came out looking ace

And it is either Mirka or 3M (so better then Meguiars I believe anyway). PM me your Address and I will send you a selection of grits.
