The rear bumper protector (trim) of my RAV has come adrift. It has never been that firmly attached with one end lifting slightly under the influence of the pressure washer and when I washed the car the other day both ends were lifting quite a bit. I investigated and it came off in my hands ... It was fixed with double sided tape that is still well adhered to the metal trim but there's not a trace of adhesive on the plastic bumper (nor indeed on the corresponding face of the tape). So, how best to re-fix it? I assume that "all I need to do" is clean off the old tape, apply new double sided tape and re-fix: - What is the best way to remove the old tape from the trim?
- There appear to be many different double sided tapes around - which is best for this purpose?
- Is there a better way?
Any and all advise appreciated ...

Why remove the tape, Philip.....? Put a line or twa of that Sticks Like Sh*t from Bernard and Quintin's DIY Store, clean back bumper, job done. Or use Davrav's favourite he has recommended before. If you do remove tape, and some residue remains, PM address and will send ye doon some Tardis.....will clean residue in secondos.

I hadn't heard of Sticks Like Sh*t - I initially thought it was a Kevism! Reviews of it are mixed - between brilliant and rubbish depending on whether it worked or not - but either way it looks as though it needs 24 warmish hours to cure. IIRC Davrav's favourite is Tiger Seal - again quite a slow cure. A little bit of working time is a very good thing but 24 hours seems like quite a long time! I guess I should do a little test ...

I used it to stick Kingspan insulation to rear of my garage door, Philip.......winter temps and garage door utterly Balticful........after an hour, impossible to peel back off.....! Had heated garage though so mibeez that helped. By the way, the doing of above DRAMATICALLY increased temperature in garage, mins.......26mm thick only and lends zero weight to closure of door.

I have found that EvoStick has worked in most cases like this over the years. And it's relatively cheap.

I had a similar thing with mine and basically did as Kevin is suggesting - bit of adhesive on the ends and then taped down until it set.
