Have a great day fella! Just hoping that I recognise you next time we meet up, this impersonation of a racing snake sounds very impressive. Would it be possible to post a piccy of your godess at some point? - OK, either godess

Many thanks all. We booked a show (well actually we got free tickets to watch the recording of BBC Radio Scotland and BBC2 Scotland "Breaking the News" for Thursday night - originally meant to be recorded in Perth so we booked a cheap hotel for that night. Then the venue couldn't get the BBC equipment up to the hall so it was staged at the BBC HQ in Glasgow. Watched the show, then a dash to Perth to arrive at the New County Hotel at 8.45pm to be told they stop serving food at 9pm hence couldn't serve us (must be logic somewhere, but as the staff were foreign (Eastern Europeans) then we enjoyed a curry at a restaurant along the road. Birthday morning - breakfast then off to Edinburgh to on e of my favourite garage mechanics to check a fault on the Volvo XC90 - gear selector wiring fault - and fit brighter headlam bulbs while we went for a stroll in Edinburgh. Attended a service at a cathedral put on specially for my birthday (St Andrews day coincides) and on leaving; got a message to say car was ready ....and it was heavy rain plus windy so being a traditional Scottish summer, collected the car and drove home to have a bottle of champagne etc. For the past 3 or 4 weeks been doing agency Class 2 driving a 12T truck - heavy work but the contract finishes on the 21st or earlier if DVLA decide my medication compromises my ability to drive....despite taking the meds (diazepam) for 20 years with no accidents (that I'm aware of lol)
Re the fire engine, I'll post up pocs of the 'appliance' - I got told off by the firemans forum for calling it a truck.
