Anyone who believes a specific wax to suit a specific colour makes one jot of difference please PM me with you bank details. I have a set of Kings new clothes to sell. What size? I bought a "Black Wax" type kit when I bought the newest car I have ever owned - Black Qashqai; pre-registered the day before I collected it so wanted to mollycoddle it Did it make a difference? nah. I have bought the Turtlewax "colour magic" polishes a few times though as I do think they can help with scratches on an older vehicle, but probably just pyschological. Funny you mentioning the colour magic as my brother earlier told me to get some of that as he uses it on his and says it works.

It was TW Colour Magic that I used as I referred to earlier. I think it does help disguise light abrasions but I'm going to have a go at Charlie's Satin black procedure.

Have a read though the how to - I think I go though the grits I used there? You cannot skip more than one level of grit and eliminate scratches when polishing up e.g. You can't go from 240 to 1000, but you can can if need be go 240 to 400 skipping 320.

I just bought a black Rav 4 and I have been using Meguiar’s Black Wax to keep it shiny. It really works great.

Ok so I have used what I had and my brother had some old GTR and GT10 and a finishing paste so used those. I started rubbing down by hand with 800g abrasive then 1200, 2000, then then put the 2000g on a pad and used the leccy drill, then I used the GT3 then the GT10 then the polishing cream. I also had some cleaning fluid to use which I haven't used yet as I might go through the process again now I know what to do, but what do you think is this good enough to get it through an MOT?? Light before. Light after polishing.

looks good.
I would suggest you get some blue painters tape instead of that standard masking tape for future use - much much better to use and remove.

Thanks you David for the links however I have now ordered the G3 and pads linked to by Bob, I already have the abrasives so would what I have be good to use? Remember G3 is an AIO Polish.. It also needs lots of water misting to get it to break down. By hand it’s hopeless by machine it can be unpredictable, it’s a very dry polish and can clag on the pad in minutes causing mico marring. It really must be used with constant lubrication. There are easier polished to use.
