I own a late mk2 RAV4. It lives at my home in France and is sometimes left for months on end. We bought it second hand with 175,000 kms on the clock; a bit tatty but a lovely drive and perfect for the Alps in all seasons. She’s been a loyal friend; no matter how long she’s left; she starts first time every time.
As tatty as she is; I treat her to the best filters, oil and fuel. She deserves it! However... we are getting low power from the engine, feels as though she’s choking. Feels like the turbo is non existent.
I’m happy to pay out for a new turbo and EGR if need be. I see some on eBay that will work. But before I splash out, is it almost certainly those items that could be the cause??? What else should I be looking at???
