Ok I know this has been discussed to death on the old forum but I can't fine much on here so if there is a thread then please direct me to it, if not which is a decent DC at a reasonable price?
I've been looking at the Halfords Nextbase 412GW at £103 plus fitting by them. Seems to get good and bad reviews??

They have been fine apart from one of the suction mountings breaking but Nextbase repleced it FoC and it arrived the day after I told them about it - impressive service.

Thanks Phillip it says that I don't have permission to see that?? Well I don't understand why not. The thread is in Of-Topic Randomness which states that you need to have made two posts before access is granted. So, you will have to be logged-in but you have made rather more than two posts ...

Another hands up for the 412GW. I have 3 of them and all are working perfectly. Slightly fiddly getting the cam off the mount, but apart from that, no problems. My last one bought from Currys with a 20% extra discount which made it the same price as Halfords. The hard wire kit is good value from eBay, I think I paid £11 and had the latest one fitted when the new vans alarm was being done. Nextbase recommend wiring to the ignition switch rather than the battery direct.

I've got them plugged into the 12-v socket in the centre console using long USB leads to the cameras on the windscreen. Cable is hidden under the console (there's a handy little rubber coin tray in the base of the console that the cable can enter through), behind the glovebox, up behind the winscreen trim and across the top of the screen (hiding the cable under the roof liner edge) to the camera. It sound s a bit fiddly but it only took an hour per car total.
I suppose I could have used a car kit from Nextbase but as I had plenty of USB cable and socket adapters it just semed easiest.

I just bought the Nextbase 380GW but haven't fitted it to the volvo yet. Seems a straightforward fix. Just finished rewiring 6 aux lighting circuits on the fire engine - the 60 year old wiring had developed a couple of faults but as soon as the wires were moved, the insulation fell off. Now got lovely bright flashing amber lights on the rear as well. Wiring a dash cam must be a skoosh after that!

Costco’s have gottbis on offer which I think isn’t a bad price at all. The cheapest online I found was £110.99 so quite a good price.

Thanks for that Ash My daughters boyfriend has the Nextbase one I mentioned which was fitted for an extra £30 at Halfords and looks pretty good with no cables showing so I think we will be getting one from them.
