I've been the subject of a hit and run; no one hurt, just the car. (It is easy to view others badly, I mean who hits a parked car then drives off; that car could be a life line for me. It isn't but makes life so much easier for the family, and a witness wrote down a partial reg plate and left a note on the windscreen. I want that person as a neighbour!)
Anyway, I only have 3rd. Party insurance. It's an old car, I got it cheap but runs really well. So, as the damage is fairly localised, significant but localised, and eBay has a bumper for less than £90 including delivery, I am going to give it a go.
Anyone fitted a fitted front bumper to a RAV 4.2 (late 2002 UK plate), any pointers?
Regards, Colin

:welcome: Colin. Sorry to hear about the hit and run - despicable. Just fill in your profile so anyone who can help with advice doesn't need to read back.

Thank you for the welcomes and the link to the thread.
The bumper came off pretty much as described. Problems were the usual when working with old cars, corrosion on brackets, screws and bolts. I sheared at least four. Also the reason I got the car cheap was it had been damaged and repaired (not well). So wing and fillers all slightly distorted and a pig to get back on. Anyway all that is done. One question I have is, there are some cover/infill panels, not structural, held on by a heavy rubber gunk (which I had to cut off). What is the correct term for this gunk, so I can make sure I am buying the right stuff?
Regards, Colin.
