I have a rattle from the nearside air vent. no matter which way i turn it or close it it rattles.Even on a motorway it vibrates. It feels looser than the drivers side vent and i'd like to take a closer look. My question is, does the outer 'ring' clip on/off and if so whats the best way to get at it.
Cheers
Bob

I tried taking the outer trim off today with no success. its fitted very snugly and i tried masking it and using various card and tools with no sign of it shifting. i think it needs packing out to stop the buzzing as any local pressure around the area stops it easily. maybe a job for Toyota next service as i hate any rattles / buzzes. I'm sure its an easy fix, just not for this numpty.

SOLVED. shone a torch inside and cannot see any clips to hold in place. when tapping around the vent distinct buzz . as soon as any pressure is put on the vent or the small one above it , it stops. Pushing around the dash area a click was heard . The area where the click came from was right in the corner of the dasher next to the windscreen and pillar. i don't know if there is any clips or whatever but it is now all good. went for a test drive around Surreys finest potholes and all ok. Thanks guys for the ideas. Cheers Bob.

Nice one Bob. Those annoying rattles are just that - annoying, often to the point of distraction.

Nice one Bob. Those annoying rattles are just that - annoying, often to the point of distraction. first noticed it when i took a break round Evesham and then Stratford upon Avon last week . I spent the whole trip getting she who must be obeyed to try and locate the noise. Drove me nuts . Driving down the M40 the road surface made it buzz constantly. I think she who must be obeyed was as irrated by me ,as me the buzz. so dead chuffed its sorted. Cheers Bob
