Fri Mar 18, 2016 6:24 pm #1 - Uncle bob Todays job was to fit a later model of Toyota's SatNav unit to my RAV4.2, model of unit is a B9010 and a few on EBay if you want to do the same as me . First job is take off the silver trim each side of radio..it just levers off towards you, then 4 screws hold the vent trim on...again just pulls off, now you can see the bolts holding the radio in... 4 plugs pull out the back of the radio, 3 of them here are no longer needed.... So tape them up and tuck down back of dash..... Now the biggest surprise for me was two white plugs taped to the orginal wiring loom are just what's needed to run the satnav unit, good old Toyota...on the facelift RAV4.2 one wiring loom seems to fit all , thats now satnav and cruise control wiring there ready to find A GPS aerial has to be fitted this I put just above the radio inside the dash ..... Then put satnav unit in and refit the bolts and trim..... ..all set up and ready for road test ..any disappointment ? Have to say the radio reception is not as good as my old unit will have to see if I can live with that . Thanks to Ash for a good deal on the satnav unit
