To be honest, I am probably the only person in the country that isn't that fussed about football! I follow the progress of England but haven't watched a match!
The motorway was superb yesterday when the match was on!

Apparently each goal that England scores boosts the economy by £200M or something with the 'feel-good' factor, so long may it carry on  I expected England to win as the Sweden-Switerland game was so tedious I prayed for a team - EITHER team - to score to prevent the need to go to Extra time. Neither team in that game showed any real class. The Russia-Crotia game didn't show much quality either I thought, so the only problem England should have next game is worrying about the past. |

Agreed. I didn't expect England to come through so well against Sweden because they (England) had't really shown that much promise earlier in the competition (promise, yes, but not that much) and we have an uncanny ability to lose games against Sweden even when we shouldn't. Now I agree, in the next game if Croatia are as uninspiring as they were against Russia (but remember that Russia is the home nation and had a vast number of extra players in the crowd) and England play as well as they played against Sweden then we are starting to expect them to win. And that of itself is quite worrying ...  |
