Forum Hosting
Welcome to our All-new Forum Location, but with some Familiar Features
We need to have enough money through donations and subscriptions in order for us to be able to host the forum, using our chosen names on the internet, plus the Website (running on a shared host) and domain name registrations.
No one actually gets paid to run or moderate the forum, and all money from Donations goes to the forum expenses
To make it fair on the membership as a whole, those who support the Community by being Supporters or Donators will have an advert-free experience (as well as other benefits noted further below) to reflect their financial contribution, whilst those who chose to remain as free Club Members will still have the same level of access as before and can continue to use the forum at no cost, but may be presented with adverts to help defray the cost of running the Community.
Forum Direction
This group started as the RAV4 Drivers Club, and was a home for drivers of the Toyota RAV4 to find information and help for their car. As time as gone on, the remit of the club has expanded, and many owners of RAV4 SUVs are now running other vehicles. But even though this has happened, those people have stayed as Club Members, which is fantastic and a credit to the Community we have built here.
When you look at the count of topics and posts in the previous iteration of the Forum, the Motoring and Non-Motoring sections are quite evenly split and to reflect this, we are going to rebrand the RAV4 Drivers Club as the RAV4 Drivers Club and Internet Community, with a focus on Motoring and SUVs, and still RAV4s primarily, but also recognising and building on the other areas where Club Members both look for, trust, and provide advice on all sorts of topics and subjects, as well as general discussion and chat.
So while forum.rav4driversclub.com will bring you to the forum just as before, now so will the nice simple www.r4dc.com
What does this mean to you?
While the forum will remain open to all and free to use, we think it is only fair that the people who have contributed to the running and continued existance of the Community benefit from their assistance, so the Club Support Program has been updated and revised to reflect the increased costs of running our Internet Community
- Premium Supporters -
To become a Premium Supporter would be a cost of £18 per annum. As a Premium Supporter you will have unlimited access to the entire public forum (except Lotto Syndicate unless a Member of the Syndicate); ability to advertise your personal items and buy and sell; No Adverts; Rights to use the Inclusive Storage for Picture Hosting; Free Entry to Club Competitions and Enhanced Posting Ability including Poll Creation. Plus a Set of Shiny Gold Stars against your name to show your Support - Club Supporters
- To be a Club Supporter costs £12 per annum (just £1 per month). Club Supporters have all the same benefits as Premium Supporters with a set of Silver Stars as a thanks for your Support. - Club Member-
A RAV4 Drivers Club and Internet Community Member has access to the majority of the Forum at no cost. Within this access, features include ability to create Topics, Post new messages and reply to others; send & receive PMs and download files; All this is at no cost. Some areas have restricted access and it is neccessary to upgrade to be a Club Supporter for full posting and Features rights. Club Members may be presented with Adverts - Guest-
A Guest is simply a Club Member who has not yet logged in, or someone browsing the forum who has not yet registered. Guests can view some of the forum, and are able to read topics and posts from selected forums, but cannot make posts themselves except in a very limited area (this is subject to review depending on any abuse), send PMs or download files. Guests may be presented with Adverts
The exact details of what benefits are included within the Club Supporter and Premium Supporter Programme is subject to change dependant on the features are available on the Forum, but will substantially be of the same overall benefit
