On acceleration my Rav4 d4d belts out some dark smoke, not using oil or losing power.Any ideas please.

If it's a diesel it could just be poor fuel & needs a good clean-out, as davrav says give us a bit more information to go on.

OK Thanks, my Rav4 2008 d4d has done 80k miles well serviced. It doesn't use any oil. It's very responsive and quick.I have had it remapped from 136bhp to 170 bhp. Still returning 53mpg. Tried diesel additive but still smokes.

I think he's saying that as you have had it chipped the only way to get that boost in HP is to force more fuel into the engine, which means you will have smoke out the rear due to unburnt fuel.
What colour is the smoke, black, blue or grey/white
