Had the brake pads and. discs replaced yesterday. We went out earlier today and the drivers side front is constantly squealing when driving and gets worse when braking. Sounds like a bloody hen being strangled 😞. The brakes are fine stops ok there’s nothing sticking when I put it in neutral still creeps forward or back. It’s never done it before the new discs and pads were fitted. Any thoughts anyone?

Sorry Roger I accidentally deleted your response. Yes they put grease on the pads. I’m taking it back in morning see what they say

All my brakes squel forwards and reverse. They we're done at a independent, took it back and they couldn't find anything wrong. So booked it in at mrT because it's getting pretty annoying now, they also said there was nothing wrong !!!
I've even given them a light jet wash, but not on full power and even gave them a blow out with a air hose.
In this day and age, this should not be happening unless there is something wrong.
So I'm just putting up with it.

Ref. MrT finding nothing wrong, I wouldn't be too reassured by that. When Anchorman changed my front discs and pads back in the day he pointed out that one of the pads had been inserted upside down. Previously the brakes had only been touched by MrT's 'technicians'...........
Try a smear of Ceratec on the back of the pads? Usually prevents the chattering.

Now that is a first Mr T not finding anything wrong. Every time I’ve gone in they’ve always found something trivial. The garage did apply some stuff on the back of the pads. They’re pagid discs and pads and the same is fitted on the 4.3 and they’ve never squealed. I’ve not had a chance to get there yet so just putting up with it for now. It drives ok and at first I thought maybe the brakes are stuck on or something but it still creeps forward or back in neutral so I think that’s ok. It’s really annoying though 🤬

It surprises me that they squeal “off brake” so soon after fitting. I think probably one of the stainless clips is contacting the disc.

So how are we to know when this noise is nothing or the so called official Toyota noise which we supposedly hear when the brakes are nearing end of life ?

Right, mines been sorted one of the little metal clips had been twisted when replacing the pads and discs. I’d given them a new kit to replace the old ones and by the looks of it I think they forced one of the pads in and bent the little clip. Replaced and fitted FOC. First and last time I’m using these guys 😡

So how are we to know when this noise is nothing or the so called official Toyota noise which we supposedly hear when the brakes are nearing end of life ? Bobby mine started making a little dull sort of grinding noise. There wasn’t much left of the old pads. I knew it wa s the pads as it made the same noise when they were worn out before so knee they needed replacing
