The 4.3 has developed a knocking noise which seems to be coming from the drivers side rear. Checked boot nothing in there so ticked that off.sometimes it sounds really loud and other times like rumbling knocking noise. Any thoughts please?

Any thoughts please? 😊 Hi Ash, this sounds very like the symptoms that I experienced before I changed the rear shockabsorbers. It changed the car completely when I replaced them and it is much more like it was when it was new. Noise disappeared completely. Is there any evidence of oil on the lower section of the shockabsorber(s) as that is fair indicatioin of the problem. It's an MOT problem if not fixed.

Cheers guys. Not checked for any oil leaks I’ll see if I can get a look. Still a month before warranty expires so hopefully should be covered. Thanks again

Thanks again I suspect that shockers might not be covered by the warranty as they are a wearing part in the same vein as brake pads and discs. I seem to remember that they should be replaced at 80,000 miles as part of servicing. If they were replaced you might have a chance of a claim. Have a look at your service reciepts and check if you have been charged for the work. My symptoms appeared at 78,000 and SHCM has a very useful "How to" guide in the reference section, but I guess that you will want to use the dealer if you're going to extend the warranty.

Just had a quick look on paperwork and it does say suspension is covered but no breakdown of what is and what isn’t. Will update later

There’s nothing in the history saying they’ve been changed. Will wait and see Monday what they say. Had a look around nothing obvious I can see. Neighbours off work tomorrow I’ll see if he can get underneath for me and see anything
