I have a 2008 D4D Rav4 here in Dakar Senegal.
Have recently replaced all four electric injectors and had to replace camshaft bearings.
I find that when I ascend a hill or accelerate I get a LOT of white smoke out of the tailpipe.
I originally thought this might be from bad valve stem seals, but after having them replaced we still get the heavy smoke. BUT surprisingly, once this happens the VSC light comes on and the smoking stops.
So I am now at the end of the road and it seems that the only possible cause must be from some sort of fault with the turbo?
My question is why this might occur. Does the Turbo get turned off if the VSC alarm goes off?
I appreciate any insight any of you might have.
