Mind you, it won't do Toyota any harm. With all those L200s and Outlanders being withdrawn fro Europe, the HiLux and new RAV4 Plug-in should get lots of extra sales. Many MMC customers wouldn't dream of buying a Renault SUV and the Nissan Nivarra doesn't have a good reliability reputation.

Sure I read somewhere that europe made up 1% of Mitsubishi's sales. I don't think we'll miss them, and they won't miss us. They'll no doubt be off to asia/middle east to cash in. Sensible.

I believe that 1% relates to market share in Europe, not MMC's sales ratio. But that excludes pick-ups of which they sell nearly 300k p.a. in Europe. Added together they sell nearly 500k vehicle p.a. in Europe. Bearing in mind MMC's production is about 1.2M vehicles p.a., 400-500K vehicles is a substantial proportion.
In any event, there will be a lot of construction and agricultural users of L200s especially that will certainly miss them.

Well I'll have to stick with my Mitsi now, I shelled out a few grand for.
Still better than owing ££££'s on finance. The car is mine, paid for and done.
My only worry is , if Glyn Hopkin franchise don't deal... Where do i go for servicing/ warranty etc ? No doubt they'll inform me.

MMC have already said that they will make commercial arrangements with their dealers to provide support and maintenance. I have no trouble whatsoever getting parts and service for my Saab and they have been out of production since 2012. 👍

Our eldest girl recently introduced her latest beau. Nice guy but he drives a LR Disco Sport . Other than that he seems normal...... The last one had a RR Sport but fortunately he didn't last long. I'm sure she only does this to wind me up!

You cant live in the past in an old Vauxhall forever You're not completely wrong, surprisingly. I've always maintained that their interior finish is first class and the bodywork is pristine. Unfortunately their mechanicals and electronics are sh1t, hence their unenviable position at the bottom of just about every reliability survey published in the last decade at least. If it weren't for the company car market and PCP deals LR would have disappeared long ago. But, hey, when they produce vehicles with the reliability of an old Vauxhall I'll definitely consider one.

Believe everything that's published and nobody would leave the house!! You need to move on. Cars have warranties. If they don't work they get fixed. Buyers these days want somewhere nice to sit, with loads of tech and shiny paint. They couldn't care less about mechanical and electronic parts. Don't be surprised, it's 2020. At the end of the day there are lots of stigmas in the car world - French cars are crap = Peugeot top of this years JD power survey, German cars are reliable = goggle IMS failures and bore score You want a repair bill, buy a Porsche out of warranty!! But they all make money, the name of the game these days.

But they all make money, the name of the game these days. I tend to rely on bitter experience, not heresay or the borrocks spouted by some so-called motoring journalists. And why would anyone with any sense buy a car knowing that there was a high risk of spending a big chunk of the warranty period in courtesy cars? Yeah, progress - right. Agree that many (most?) car buyers these days have no idea of what they are buying and see their car as either another white good or a pen1s extension; that isn't a reason to join them and buy similar tat. Indeed they all make money but there are a few who think that folk are dumb enough to go on buying their rubbish in the mistaken believe that they are a quality product - LR and BMW as examples. It won't last forever....

It seem pot luck with JLR, though i heard more on the wrong side. A friend had an itch for range rover, he scratched it and bought one, and it cost him an arm and a leg...sold it after less than 2 year of ownership. On the other hand, a guy at work has freelander that had zero problems, despite doing lot of mileage.

Never worked from new. After a couple of years he gave up and is now in a Volvo (which I have to admit it lovely). My brother's wife on the other hand her disco sport in 4 years old now and not a single issue from day 1.
