Ever since I was an apprentice toolmaker I’d always promised myself a toolmakers cabinet. I moved over to factory maintenance then into the motor trade so it never happened. Been looking every now and then to see what’s available, some very strong priced for immaculate examples. I was rather keen to restore one myself 👍🏻 Photos to follow 👍🏻👍🏻

Looks good as new Bob. I picked one up a few years ago. It was scratch made, presumably by a toolmaker or engineer. Like you I had wanted one for some time. It came with some tools but I use it for my jewellery/silversmithing kit. It had one bakelite knob missing from one of the drawers so I sold the remaining nine and bought ten wee brass ones. Sale of the tiny bakelite knobs covered the whole purchase price

The knobs on this one come with white caps, sadly they get destroyed removing them to find the fixing screw. found some miniature cap headed screws , looks in keeping with it being and engineering chest .
