:welcome: Sue. A competent mechanic should be able to sort that or a diesel specialist depending on how/where the glowplug is broken.

They are more used to extracting seized or partially seized injectors and glow plugs so maybe a better option. The risk is that debris goes down past the remaining section of plug and into the combustion chamber… No garage will cover the risk of that happening and explains the reluctance to do it. If your car is starting ok and is not bleeding air from the broken stud you could just leave it. Double up on the heat cycle for the plugs. By that I mean turn the key full on then when the lights go out turn it off repeat and then start it after the lights go out again. This putting through two heat cycles can help the 3 remaining plugs carry the dead one. Especially useful on cold morning . We have no knowledge of your car like it’s mileage etc etc which gives us clues on how to move forward. Fill in the information in your profile and introduce yourself properly and you’ll find more folk will jump to try and help. 👍
