My 1999 RAV4 Auto had a light indicating which gear was engaged. No sign of one in my 2006 model. Is there no such feature or has a bulb gone out?
Edit!
I can see the lights showing the gears when the main lights are switched on. Fine in the dark and in the garage on a dull day. But I will miss seeing the indicator which was in my old RAV. I’m surprised that was dropped.

Have you tried turning up the dash panel lighting control? It is a roller wheel to the right of the steering column on the lower section of the dash.

Yes. No sign of which gear it’s in.

I have the same year, auto - mines the XT5. No there is no panel light telling you which gear is selected, I was surprised, I have had quite a few autos over the years and always had some sort of heads up display for auto selection. Yes, when it’s darkish in the cabin it s tricky to check what gear you have selected

I cannot remember for sure, but I am sure my 2011 Auto SR Diesel D-CAT RAV4.3 had an indicator on the dash - It was a different gearbox though to the Petrol. Was the Petrol Auto a CVT Gearbox and maybe did not have any specific Gears as such, and hence no indicator?
