Hello all.
Well , having my rear brake pads changed tomorrow.
But , by a local independent garage.
Mitsubishi quoted £280 !
I got a new job in another plumbers merchant recently,and there's a reputable garage next door.
And they quoted £105 !
But , because I'm not useing Mitsubishi is the remaining 8 months warranty void ?
I don't think it is 🤔

Using a third-party to replace a 'consumable' part can't affect the warranty - unless they are really dumb and break something else on the car. Using a third-party to service the car shouldn't affect the warranty provided the work is done to the standards specified by the manufacturer (and they don't do anything dumb). |

My understanding is that to comply with manufacturers warranty any servicing or repairs done outside of the network has to be done by a VAT registered garage, I think the VAT requirement is to try and make sure work is carried out by a competent garage and not a mate down the pub….
