Hello all.
Well , having my rear brake pads changed tomorrow. But , by a local independent garage.
Mitsubishi quoted £280 !
I got a new job in another plumbers merchant recently, and there's a reputable garage next door.
And they quoted £105 !
But , because I'm not useing Mitsubishi is the remaining 8 months warranty void ?
I don't think it is 🤔

Using a third-party to replace a 'consumable' part can't affect the warranty - unless they are really dumb and break something else on the car. Using a third-party to service the car shouldn't affect the warranty provided the work is done to the standards specified by the manufacturer (and they don't do anything dumb).

My understanding is that to comply with manufacturers warranty any servicing or repairs done outside of the network has to be done by a VAT registered garage, I think the VAT requirement is to try and make sure work is carried out by a competent garage and not a mate down the pub….
