I use pads on the bodywork Bob so I can't see why not use them for the lights too. Better to apply two light coats, each buffed, rather than one heavy coat and do it in the shade when the temperature drops a bit.

Thanks Bob Bob SRP is an ultra light polish more ideally used for paint cleansing . It’s cut is the lowest of any polish I’ve used. So for polishing yellow headlights a polish with more cut would mean a fraction of the effort. There is absolutely no need for Specialized polishes or kits any polish with a bit of cut will do the job 👍

Last year following a polish i waxed my car with Auto glym ultra hd. i was very pleased with the result. however the same wax on my daughters fiesta which is deep impact blue left a lot of cloudy areas. i had to remove it all after advise from autoglym hence why ive bought the collinite 476s.

Yes, do one side first coat, do the other one and then back to first one.

Any polish with a bit of cut literally. I would because it’s a common brand suggest Farecla G3 but because it’s an all in one polish that can catch you out if you don’t know how it works. it’s not ideal. That said it’s ideal for headlights and it’s readily available and cheap so a wee bottle might be just the job. It will quarter the time SRP takes that’s for sure. When waxing with 476S I do it like this. I wipe it onto the panel with a sponge applicator and wipe it straight back off again. Then I do it again straight away on the same panel . 476S doesn't need to cure on the panel in fact it makes the job twice as hard and errrr well you end up with streaks. So straight on straight off. If it’s warm apply 476 with a slightly damp soft cloth then again straight off. The only time I leave 476 to dwell is on the chrome or plastic chrome. When I did my car last week I waxed all the chrome bits twice then applied again and left it and removed it a couple of days later. You don’t get streaks on the chromy bits…..

Never seened the point of double coats of Collinite……single light coat worked wonders. I wouldn't have time to do two coats...

Never seened the point of double coats of Collinite……single light coat worked wonders. It has been said that the second coat is only for the bits you’ve missed . I’m not sure I subscribe to that. I’ve always applied two coats for summer and three for winter. It could be a waste but it’s worth remembering we apply as little as possible . It’s hardly in more effort or it seems that way to do the panel twice one coat then another . I still occasionally go on the detailing websites and it seems that even today after all these years no one has made a better durable wax . Much pi$$ is taken out of these ceramic products . The kings new clothes springs to mind. Of course those who pay silly money for them will say otherwise but they would eh

At the risk of heresy, I have to confess to using Turtle Wax Graphene on the RAV last time. It comes in a cream that constitutes the initial wax coat and then there is a spray which is applied after rinsing but before drying the car ( bit like a deluge detailer). I have to say it has worked well and is quite easy to apply and polish off.
