Hi all I bought my 3dr 2005 rav4 2nd gen. I think it’s absolutely brilliant. First thing I done was upgrade the factory head unit works perfectly just need to figure out how to get the sw controls to work along side it lol I’ve been trying to retro fit the cruise control. I bought the stalk off Amazon (not an original part). I have followed a few videos and wired it in to the audio plug. When I turn the control on the cruise light comes up on the display. Test drove it and it doesn’t work. I did research on how to use it. I’m at a lose now ami missing something out. Any advice would be great.

Hi Mike and welcome to the club 👍 Is your Rav a manual or auto ? It would be useful if you could fill in your car details in your profile 😉

Welcome to the club 👍🏻 with the cruise control a blue wire had to be added to the grey plug. see here….

Does it have the clutch control switch fitted and working? From memory (poor at best !) Jase said that the switch was already fitted on his mk2 diesel, when he fitted the cruise control.

Jase said that the switch was already fitted on his mk2 diesel, when he fitted the cruise control. ... and also from memory of reading old posts - so highly unreliable - if the car came from an era when the posh grades had a cruise control option, the switch was probably already fitted; if it was an earlier car, it wasn't and had to be added.

Jase fitted the cruise control to his manual diesel mk2 and no extra pedal switches needed.
Next thought do all the other functions work on the steering wheel ?….if not the air bag clock spring might be damaged ☹️

Yes as Bob rightly says , no pedal switches were needed when I fitted cruise control to my 2004 diesel manual. I bought a second hand steering wheel with the cruise control , swapped to my wheel as it was in better condition and the cruise light came on and everything worked 😊
