Glyn Hopkin in Colchester are stopping selling new Hondas from 2 weeks ago.
It will change brand , and Honda will become like Mitsubishi- a service only outlet. Honda have been there for as long as I can remember. Ipswich or Chelmsford will be the nearest.

Just surprised, as when I parked for a new battery on my Eclipse Cross. Very few Hondas in the acre sized car park... I thought uh oh , something is changing. And again, waiting was now in the Honda side of the two businesses.
Mitsubishi and Honda used different sides of the building for years
So many Honda staff too , all looking..... bored.

One of the things that put me off buying a late Shogun is that no Mitsubishis will be sold here soon if it hasn’t already. OK there will be parts and service but who wants the last of the cars ?
There’s nothing in the Honda line up for me but unlike my son and his wife who are Honda mad I wouldn’t buy a Honda either. They turned their back on the UK Labour force and I’m supposing they build elsewhere other than Japan.
Maybe I’m a bit old fashioned but I won’t knowingly buy anything made in the PRC if I can possibly avoid it either ..

Maybe I’m a bit old fashioned but I won’t knowingly buy anything made in the PRC if I can possibly avoid it either .. Good luck with that! I believe the same, but trying to find UK made items is like looking for hens teeth. The two main on-line shops are full of them, and even if you click the 'UK only' box the amount of things from the PRC are staggering! My compromise is to buy things from UK companies knowing that they are produced somewhere in the PRC, but at least the vendor is not from There.

When I met my lovely wife, Sue, I really hit the jackpot: she is half Chinese, her Dad was from Shanghai and her Mum was Scottish. Our kids have names that celebrate their Chinese heritage. We celebrate Chinese New Year every year and our home is full of Chinese imagery. I spent the best part of 30 years of my career with one of the world's largest power generation companies which had an enormous market for power stations in PRC, hence I would be in China or HK maybe 5 or 6 times a year for weeks at a time. I have worked with Chinese colleagues for all of those years and had many friendships with them which I value to this day. I can still remember each of the visits that I made to Beijing, Daya Bay and HK over those years. So I am not a Sinophobe by any stretch of the imagination but, in my experience of the many lovely Chinese folk that I have met over the years, the leaders like Xi and Mao Tse Tung many years before him, don't represent the millions of decent Chinese in PRC. Just felt that I needed to say that........
