I've got a 2004 Rav4 which has been totally reliable since we got it 5 or 6 years ago. The other day I was driving home and noticed that the clock had reset itself to 1:00 - I thought maybe I'd pressed a button by mistake while driving so I went to turn on the interior light to check and that didn't work either. Once I got home I got out and went to lock the doors with the keyfob but it didn't work at all - no flashing indicators and the doors remained unlocked.
I've recently changed the battery in the keyfob and the red light works when I press the buttons so it must be something else.
On further using the car I've noticed that the clock resets itself to 1:00 every time I drive it.
I read somewhere that sometimes everything can go out of sync and that removing a battery terminal and reconnecting it can re-boot the system. I tried this but it did not work.
First off welcome to the club 👍🏻 Remembering other members possible problems … fusable link on the red battery terminal . Or windscreen letting water in, and running down to the fuse box on drivers or passengers kick panels .
Hoovie: ignore this section - it will disappear shortly
