Purely by deduction but I'm thinking that the dimension is internal diameter. If you look at the image of the torch held by one of the clips, the clip is stamped '30' and I'd guess that is pretty much the diameter of that type of torch?
Looking at the photo of the pile of clamps, they are all stamped with sizes prefixed with the 'theta' diameter symbol.

Hmmm. I discounted that possibility as would there not be a variation of thickness of hose material depending on if pressurised, for example? The actual pipe I wish to clamp is an awning pole which at a visual guess is 1mm thick - hoses would be a fair bit thicker I would think so would be hard to really guess at. I guess will need to call them and clarify? clicked on some of the other links and they say diameter - so at least that discounts circumference anyway  |

Normally flexible pipe is Bore diameter, 'Hard' Pipe is external diameter ... I say normally, I could introduce you to my collection of pipe that fits nothing in particular, but you don't need to see that  |

Called seller this morning to clarify and this is the situation (and makes sense in fact) When buying hoses, the internal diameter is the dimension quoted When buying hose clips, the external diameter is the dimension quoted. [insert twilight zone music now] I happened to have a youtube video running while I was looking at this and just as I reached for my phone to call company and check if dimension was internal or external, this bit of the video ran (just the next 10 seconds of so is relevant)... He should have asked on the RAV4 Forum (He is using his pipes and mounting them for a similar purpose to what I will be using mine for as it happens. goes to show no such thing as a new idea any more  ) |

So I bought the 13mm Clamps for my 13mm Pipe.... Too Small!! Well, the clamps ARE 13mm, and if I take off the rubber lining, it is a perfect fit. But the rubber lining is a key part of why I chose that clamp  Rubber lining is around 1mm thick, so reordered clamps, but this time chose 15mm size (I have an use inside the house for the clamps without the lining, so money not wasted :TU: ) |
