I have just been reading about the tesla app problem, I find it incredadably short sighted to make an app to open and close a car that requires the user to have an Internet connection for it to work.

Just one more example of Musk being out of touch with reality. His inclusion of an interactive touchscreen was lunacy of the first order. You get fined for using a mobile phone in a car but it’s okay to have to take your eyes off the road to set the air on or radio. Utter stupidity. 😡

So, yes, using your smartphone as your key is a bit risky, and Tesla look pretty dumb if the service goes down, but that wasn't / isn't the only way Tesla drivers could use their cars ...

"Assistance" is becoming "distraction" at a fair rate of knots! Mind you, it might just be me getting older and grumpier

Only a complete fool (or someone who can’t drive) could possibly think that an interactive touchscreen in a car was a good idea.😖

Personally I wouldn't want to use a smartphone for this, butit cannot be difficult to create a failsafe situation where if the phone cannot connect to the Internet (like your car is halfway to Mars 🤣) it then requires some other form of id, fingerprint for example

Personally I wouldn't want to use a smartphone for this, butit cannot be difficult to create a failsafe situation where if the phone cannot connect to the Internet (like your car is halfway to Mars 🤣) it then requires some other form of id, fingerprint for example Bluetooth apparently.
