Hi folks.. Mum's 07 zink Yaris has failed mot, it's at 80k miles. It failed on broke front offside spring, so needs replacing. Should she get both sides done ? I think so , as one side would be new / other side worn or weak ? Only issue is she's hoping to trade it in this year for something...

I can see the temptation to minimise the cost but the argument about different lengths of spring that Rambler identifies is spot on. Shock absorbers, brakes, springs should all be changed in "axel" pairs. Changing front springs is not a big job.

Unusual for the Offside to go, it's normally the Nearside in all the potholes, or at least that used to be the case, now it's potholes everywhere.
