I will add some pictures if anyone is interested, but I have for sale the following units: Rotel RC-850This is a Pre Amplifier Rotel RB-850This is the Power Amplifier Some Reviews ... www.audioreview.com/product/amplification/amplifiers/rotel/rb-850.htmlFor anyone into their Hi-Fi, they will probably have heard of these units. I bought them brand new back in, I think, the late '80s and actually very soon after I bought them, packed them away as I was seduced by a Pioneer Home Cinema Seperates setup. So this means that the Rotels have been stored away in their original packaging and boxes for nearly 30 years and are actually nearly new in terms of use! I don't really want to split them as most people would use the two together. In fact, a very common thing to do was to get a pair of RB-850s to go with an RC-850 and bridge them for ultimate power, so anyone who has a single RB-850 already, this is a a superb low-cost upgrade. Price - been hanging around for ages and I need to really clear all the stuff I know I will never really use again so asking just £100 for the pair plus postage (probably around £20?)

Edit: which in due course was replaced with a Technics 315 system - also in the loft somewhere I think!

Something I was saving up for with my Paper Round money was a Ferguson Cassiever - remember them? the DBs at the time they were

Quick search to confirm answer in the affirmative Some good info here: www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/rotel/rc-850.shtmlIf I understand the info below correctly, the MC Turntable input is far superior than the MM one? Input sensitivity: 0.26mV (MC), 2.5mV (MM), 150mV (line) Signal to noise ratio: 64dB (MC), 78dB (MM), 95dB (line)

Tempting Man, really tempting, it would go well with my LP12 ... although having to spend a grand for a MC cartridge to take full benefit means it's not quite a bargain for me

Actually traded in two Arkivs for the Dynavector with me paying cash £300.00.......both Arkivs needed rejigged. Unless you are using an Ekos 1 or 2 arm, moving magnet totally fine IMHO. Plus to answer Hoovie also too forbye, there is normally a sonic improvement in my EXPERIENCE from going Moving Coil, but golly gosh.....there are some stonking Moving Magnet wans oot there noo too. Ye pays yer choice and ye takes yer money. Read a few reviews on Hoovie's Rotels......always respected Rotel but reviews really well.........somebody get in there, coz if I do, I will need to buy a 230v Generator for ma tent........flung oot I will be quick style....!!!!!

Just recently spent £800 having the LP12 rejigged anyway, £400 for a new power supply after the Valhalla gave up the ghost (It was 30 years old fgs)and £400 for an Adikt to replace the K5 (Which was also 30 years old, but several stylii replacements). I auditioned a Kandid, on an Ekos IV with a full Kore/radikal/Uphorik setup, when I went to pick mine up. Absolutely sublime, but we are talking the sort of money most people wouldn't spend on a car let alone a HiFi system!! If I could pick up another good RB850 cheap, I'd snap Hoovies arm off in an instant.

Ok, here we have a limited-time one-time only offer ....
Buy the RB-850 and RC-850 Amps Power and Pre-Amps and you will also get ....
A Jamo SW-300 Sub-Woofer. This was part of the Jamo SW-300 Kit and originally came with a pair of small Jamo Shelf speakers, but I am not sure where they are (and TBH will probably want to keep them for use with a TV). Other speakers will of course work fine.
I used this Jamo Sub-Woofer along with a Jamo 100 Centre Speaker and a Pair of Canon S-30 multi directional Speakers on my Home Cinema setup in the '90s and got put away when I moved house in '98 the Canons are also available for just £30 for the pair)

Ye could be right there in ELECTRICAL terms, Dave, but after 40 years of spending dafta bucks on equipment, and lotsa visits "on business" to likes of Linn factories, Tannoy, Systemdeck, I never did find a MM cartridge to outSONIC a MC wan......albeit, the electronics I was using....won't advertise their Naim.......was where the MC signal was amplified properly. Used to run a pre-amp off two 24v DC supplies then on to the power amp. Put it all on ebay as was not being used, and forgot to put "UK Bidders Only." Massive error......British kit wanted all over the globe.....wan bit went to That Russia place fgs.....!!

I used to dabble a bit, but sold all my good kit when we moved out here, amasingly I got £1500 for my Radford STA35 to a guy in Italy via eBay, I was expecting about£600-£700, but haven't had any Vinyl since the 80's
