So, is the Yaris Cross more a logical successor to: - The original RAV 4
- The Urban Cruiser
The Yaris is a pretty sound platform to start with. The original RAV4 was based on the then Corolla platform IIRC. And they are pretty similar in size.
But the advertising seems far more focused on the Urban Cruiser market ... ?
Phillip, wasn't the Urban Cruiser based on the Yaris platform? I will never understand why Toyota didn't continue with the development of the UC - but maybe they have at last! |

Yes, you are exactly correct - so the Urban Cruiser is reborn ... I liked the Urban cruiser. It had a distinctive body style that was funky…. Not just another clone car. Im supposing the Yaris Cross is aimed at Fords Puma ? I like the Puma but like so many of these similar cars that have complex designs they don’t look good from all angles. I very definitely prefer the CHR to the Yaris but as the CHR is to smal the Yaris must be a very small car. So unless it’s to take sales away from that size car like the Puma I don’t see the point of having so many sizes of the cars. |

My daughter picks up her new Yaris Cross on 1st September as the Audi A4 diesel had to go due to the ULEZ in London..

I originally wanted a black one, but the chance of a new one in Decuma Gray with no wait for delivery arose so I took it. Absolutely no regrets! Is Kev likely to demand a fee 'cause I got one in his colour?  |
