Back in the day when the 4.2 was popular, did any members upgrade their cars speakers ? Years ago I upgraded my then 1998 Celica with pioneer speakers to good effect. Just fancy doing an upgrade on my 4.2 3 door .
Size for front and rears are 6.5"…. I’ve been out the audio upgrade game for so long, I’ve little idea what’s a good or bad brand to use 🙁

Seems not too many owners have replaced speakers on the 4.2 ….so I’ll be the Guinea pig and crack on with it anyway😉 Don’t intend to spend a fortune, just a sensible priced upgrade. Front and rear speakers are 6.5" but I’ll do the fronts first and see how it sounds . Tweeter speakers are part of the plan but no real space for them on the door cards. After a bit of research the 5 door mk2 in XT5 spec, had tweeter covers on the panel next the side mirrors, so have ordered a pair of them .
