I drove the 4.2 yesterday after a while and as always the wife seems to never notice anything unless it’s a warning light or missing front wing extensions. Anyway it seem like it’s coming from the front passenger side wheel. It’s like a squeaking noise that’s send to flow with the speed of the car but when you brake it disappears and then when your off the brake it returns. We did have new discs and pads fitted but I think that was before the original lockdown and from what I can see the pads seem ok with loads of meat on them

Think it needs to be inspected Ash ….better safe than sorry 🙁 Thanks Bob its already booked in for next week it’s just really frustrating when your driving. Sounds like a mouse squeaking. The brakes seem fine it doesn’t seem to pull or anything and stops as it should. Hopefully find out on Thursday

More likely front dustguard has finally perished and leaning against disc, Ash……front ones cheap, rear ones MENTAL expensive. Wee pointer I can give you if needs replaced so geeza shout.

Stripped and cleaned the callipers pads slide plates etc several times. Even spoke to Don who like me thought everything I’d done should have covered it. Turned out the brake pad friction material was parting from the metal backing plate. Hell did it take some finding !!! I had fitted the new parts myself and used Pagid discs and pads so premium quality. I had used Ceratec not copaslip as well…….

Thank you as always BK really appreciated. IIRC the rear ones are like £500 each just seems really weird. I wonder if Kingo knows why they so expensive . I’ll update on Thursday when it’s been checked over. Charlie we had Pagid discs and pads too we’ve always used them since they seem to be the main choice on here. Hopefully it shouldn’t be anything drastic 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Turns out it just needed cleaning out. The mechanic removed the pads and there was some sort of dirt between the discs and pad. No damage to the disc and gave it a good clean with brake cleaner and it’s perfect now. Saved a few quid I was worried that could be something expensive.
