Having been a lifelong Redex user, I was converted to Millers as a result of this Forum and found it made a noticeable difference, particularly when using low grade diesel. In order to get a better deal, I bought a 5 litre container and regularly went through the annoying and smelly process of transferring it into a more user friendly container. I once made the mistake of transferring some to an empty Redex bottle, which was turned into a flimsy balloon full of smelly Millers. I managed to rescue it from my car before it burst. With the Sorento, I started using Shell as it didn't like Asda fuel and similar. The half full Millers container with about two and a half litres stood in my garage and I assumed it would be alright. I decided to give my Sorento a dose of it after I bought some dodgy fuel at an independent garage off the A46 near Newark. When transferring the Millers into a half litre Millers bottle, I was shocked to see it had gone black. I phoned Opie Oils and they told me that the additive has a certain shelf life which they don't tell you about when you spend a small fortune on the large container. They wouldn't say whether the black Millers was safe to use and it stands in my garage. Anyone with technical knowledge advise me whether to use it or take it to the recycling centre for safe disposal? If there's the slightest doubt, obviously I don't want to risk poisoning my new Karoq - I must be senile - just realised I'm getting a petrol so it's down to the tip with it anyway. I'll leave this post as a warning to anyone else who's going to store it for a prolonged period.

Keeping it cool and away from sunlight helps.
If kept in a shed for example, they of course can get very warm inside during summer.

They are at Brighouse and I've always found them very helpful. Their number is 01484 713201.

I bought a 5 litre tin of Millers and used it over a period of 3 years with no problems. It was kept in the garage so not subject to high or low temperatures. I used only very clean plastic bottles designed for these chemicals. I did know it had a shelf life as it says on the tin 👍👍👍

Where is the cheapest to buy this from. For example, Halfords are £13.99 for 500ml.

That was a easy answer and I've looked there. Most are the 500ml bottles, I'd like a larger amount.

When I searched around a few years ago, Opie Oils had the best price for Millers. On the subject of additives, is it worth using one for a petrol engine and does anyone notice a difference when using different types of petrol? Are they as dependent on additives as diesel?
