You will have all seen a message from Proboards to all members of the forum.
Note firstly that this is a message direct from Proboards (the company that provide the hosting service to the RAV4 Drivers Club) and will have gone to every person who is a registered member of any forum that Proboards host.
Now I think I will clarify one detail first ... They say "... As a free service, ProBoards makes most of its revenue from online ads". It is true that a forum on Proboards can be hosted for free, but to get certain features such as no advertising being shown we do pay Proboards a monthly fee as well as other fees for having our own name, so it is worth bearing in mind that if you are a Club Supporter, some of the donation you make goes to Proboards already.
As a Forum hosting company, I think Proboards is very good and a world away from the Tapatalk experience some may recall we endured for a time after Tapatalk took over many forum hosting companies (including our own at the time) to dominate in that area and singlehandedly destroyed countless forums.
Hopefully Proboards will weather the current situation and continue to be able to operate successfully and host all their existing customers and avoid the chance of returning to the dark days of Tapatalk!
If you are not a Club Supporter, or you use other forums also hosted by Proboards, they do offer a "PB+" Service which gives you Advert-Free use of all Proboards site, which maybe of interest to you and will also help Proboards finances.
I have setup a recurring monthly donation (to run for the rest of year) to Proboards in the name of the RAV4 Drivers Club, so will be from all of us, to give a little help. This is on top of the regular service payment to Proboards.
