"Kimi Raikkonen as announced that he will calling time on his career following the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. And speaking ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, Raikkonen said he had “no regrets” about his time in the sport."

I've never got the whole kimi raikkonen thing. Sure he's popular, very popular but where everyone goes on about how he's different to the rest of them I just find him a bit boring tbh, zero charisma. Maybe it's just me

Maybe it's just me He was a touch unlucky with McLaren and reliability, but was 100% lucky to get WDC in 2007. Overall, past his sell-by. Freeing up a seat for a fresher pilot is the best thing he has done in years What I heard today and don't understand is a comment from a commentator that Alfa is considering a swap to Mercedes Engines?? Alfa is owned by Ferrari so why would either they switch to MB, or MB supply them? If he mean Alpha (ex Torro Rosso), the same applies with a Red Bull team switching from an imminent Red Bull badged engine?

Kimi’s radio messages to his teams are legendary 😄😄 They're ok - always thought Montoya's were the best. IIRC he is the reason why they are no longer live

Are Honda still pulling out ? There are one heck of a lot of adverts for the new electric Honda that make big references to the F1 Honda powered cars.

Next year I think Red Bull are running "Honda" engines, but from 2023 they are running "Red Bull" Engines - the same engine renamed. They delayed by a year due to the Pandemic stopping the engineering knowledge handover but Honda is still pulling out (they have great timing!) but all the IP is being transferred/sold to Red Bull who are taking it over (with some transferred staff from Honda to Red Bull) and have their own Engine Factory now. I would think that there will still be some references to Honda retained on the car even if just in the form of advertising.

I seem to recall that the last time their timing wasn’t brilliant either…..

I'm not sure how many times they have pulled out, but it is more than two (At a rough stab, I would say at least 5 times off the top of my head but will go and check out to see They are, as far as I can tell, far more focussed on the US Cart/Indycar stuff (surprising as I always think of Honda as a technolgically-driven company so F1 would be their natural home?)

So Honda .... based on Wikipedia to confirm/correct my recollections... Started in 1964 as Team. Withdrew in 1968 due to financial reasons and driver death Back in 1983 as Engine Supplier. Withdrew in 1992 (after winning upto 1991 every WCC championship since 1986 and every WDC since 1987) due to financial reasons and "achieving their goals" ('we are fed up with always winning, so we're off'?) Back in 2000 as Engine Supplier and then Team. Withdrew in 2008 due to financial reasons Back in 2015 as Engine Supplier. Withdrawing end of 2021 due to change of focus. Engines will still be used from 2022 but called "Red Bull" and produced by Red Bull Powertrain. so it is just the 4 times, and the last 3 times leaving at a time of success (I would say Red Bull are on the cusp of getting the WDC this year, but not the WCC - so Honda won't be able to share in the success glory so much in 2021 though)
