I was dreading this but absolutely relieved when he jumped out. It must’ve been his lucky day. It happened so quick and I thought that was the end. Wishing him a quick recovery 👍🏼

Brought back horrid memories of some of the terrible crashed in the 60s and 70s. Just reminds you how dangerous all motor sport can be despite the many safety measures that have been adopted.
Stroll got lucky as well by all accounts thanks to Halo.

He was in that fire for quite some time.... Miracle he walked. He’s always been a bit of a crasher ......

Apparently impact registered 53g. I would have thought he would have be rendered unconcious by that. Certainly got lucky!
I wouldn't be surprised if that was his last F1 drive. not being retained next year and just two races left within a fortnight.

I’m waiting for the first Roman and candle quip......
Hoovie I took a high side off a Yamaha R1 while on the power between the end off Redgate and Hollywood bends at Donnington park. I have zero memory of the off I just woke up in an ambulance on the way to hospital.
Medic told me that a violent high side can rattle the head so much the rider looses conciseness... I’m pretty sure that’s what happened as I remember being lent right over on the bike then nothing. Bike was destroyed I had cuts bruises etc....
So what 50+G could do is incredible. Yet Roman walked away like a person in a James Herbert novel....
